Mostly Harmless Entertainment

A Brief History of Mostly Harmless Entertainment

Matt and Penn have known each other since '96. 1996. They met doing The Rocky Horror Picture Show in Southern California. Their imagination and comic stylings worked well together and they quickly became friends. In 2002, they both found themselves living in Washington. Isolated from everything in the world they had ever known, they were forced to explore the dark, dusty corners of their imagination. They have since written some of the funniest, deranged and potentially illegal comedy ever seen.

Together they put together a team of the most talented individuals in the state. The members of Mostly Harmless Ent. work with a "do it ourselves" attitude. No one on the MHE crew is a “just a." Everyone pulls double or triple duty. Mainly because we can, sometimes because we have to. The hard work, skill and dedication of every single member of Mostly Harmless is unparalleled.

Penn K. Williams

Penn was born and raised in southern California. He started working in live theatre at the age of 11. Only appearing on stage a few times, he mainly worked backstage as a grip or stage manager. Stage managing came when he was older, because really, who would let an 11 year old run a show? That's just stupid. Why would you think that? No really, why?

In his early 20's Penn was part of a budding independent film scene in his home town. It was there that his interest in film took off. Penn produced a hand full of short films in CA before moving to Seattle, WA. Working with Frankenhuffer Productions, Penn and Matt put together the Mostly Harmless team to produce their first feature length film Off Camera.

Even though Penn has a starring role in Off Camera he prefers the behind the scenes of producing. Turns on's include long walks on the beach, being a 'kept man' and mayonnaise on french fries. Turn off's: Retail, people, Canada. No fatties.

Matthew Burtner

Born in Northern California and raised elsewhere, Matthew Burtner was bit by the acting bug at a young age. Unfortunately, the acting bug’s bite, which in older children and adults is known to cause creativity and inspiration, was almost fatal to little Matt. Most of his life was spent as the shy, funny guy... ok, the shy, funny, fat guy... with bad skin. Eventually, he overcame these obstacles and is now making independent film.

Off Camera is his first stab at the feature length, writing/acting/directing gig. He’s never stabbed a person but won’t rule out the possibility. Previous film credits include:
